# channel_settings_get

Read a selected channel's stored publication settings before changing its title, site icon, contacts, entrance conditions, developer-console setting or launch state.

| Input | Required | Meaning |
| --- | --- | --- |
| `channelCode` | Yes | The selected channel's opaque code |
| `includeContactCountries` | No | Defaults to false; true includes supported phone-country choices |

```json
{
  "channelCode": "CHANNEL_CODE_FROM_LIST",
  "includeContactCountries": true
}
```

On success, `code:CHANNEL_SETTINGS` includes `channel`, `settings`, `revision`, `capabilities` and `verification`. `settings` covers identity, title, currency, plan, visibility, minimum/maximum age, adult-only and developer-console flags, launch/deactivation, contacts and the stored `iconImageSrc`. The SHA-256 revision covers the complete normalized settings projection, including plan and launch state; copy it into [apply](publ_channel_settings_apply.md) as `expectedRevision`.

`capabilities` reports adult-only availability, launch eligibility, adapter support for icon replacement, `iconFormats:["image/png","image/jpeg"]` and `maxIconBytes:1000000`. `replaceIcon:true` means the adapter provides the upload operations; it does not prove host configuration is present or that a future upload will succeed. `iconUploadRequiresConfiguration:true` remains explicit. Optional country choices contain internal option values: South Korea uses `746`, not the calling prefix `+82`.

OWNER is allowed; a selected-channel DELEGATEE needs `MANAGE_CHANNEL_PUBLIC_SETTING`. CREATOR is denied. The response must match the requested channel identity. This read does not initialize settings, upload a file, refresh credentials or launch. `verification.confirmed:true` with method `channel_read` establishes the stored projection; The tool neither downloads the icon nor verifies rendering.

The common [navigation result](../reference/results.md) supplies one selected-channel publication-settings destination when resolvable. Demo results do not provide a real console link. Settings access, page publication and member entitlement are separate workflows.
