publ MCP Reference
This Reference explains how to connect an AI assistant to your publ channel through MCP and what each tool does: its inputs, its results, how to recover an interrupted task and which console screen to open.
Get started
- Connect to publ MCP: add the server to your assistant and sign in.
- Authentication and sessions: how sign-in, channel approval and tokens work.
- Usage guide: how an assistant finds a screen, reads it, previews a change and applies it.
- Common results and recovery: status codes, revisions, tasks and what to do next.
- Console links: when a result links a console screen, and why some actions stay on the console.
- Changes: what was added recently.
How a change works
- Read the screen first. The answer carries a
revision. - Preview the change with
dryRun: true. Nothing is sent. - Apply with the same
requestIdand therevisionyou read. A change the console treats as permanent asks you to confirm again; an action the console only allows on its own screen answers with that screen's link instead. - If an answer is pending, resume the task with
task_resume; a sent request is never sent twice.
